Krispy Kreme's in Singapore!
Are you a fan of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and did you make friends buy you boxes of them when they return to Singapore? Well, you no longer have to travel or trouble friends and family to fulfill your Krispy Kreme craving as they will be opening their Flagship Store in Singapore tomorrow at the Basement of Tangs Orchard.
I was sent 2 dozen Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts to sample 2 weekends ago. I distributed all but one doughnut away to friends and family.
Krispy Kreme Doughnut - Original Glazed
How was the Original Glazed Doughnut? A cult classic, Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts are renowned for an airily light and fluffy texture and sweetened with the brand's signature sugar glaze. I've tried Krispy Kreme Doughnuts before and was never a huge fan because of the cloyingly sweet sugar glaze. I nuked my Krispy Kreme sample in the microwave for 8 seconds before biting into it. True to its reputation, the Krispy Kreme Doughnut had a barely there texture unlike regular doughnuts that have a slightly chewy texture. The glaze was still a little too sweet for my liking so I had trouble finishing the entire doughnut by myself and shared it instead. Like mooncakes, a Krispy Kreme Doughnut is a snack that I will enjoy only in small quantities on account of the high sugar content. If only Krispy Kreme produced -plain doughnuts, I imagine I shall be consuming them more often as I love plain doughnuts. The doughnuts are a Must-Try on account of the lovely light texture!
Come 9 am tomorrow morning, Singapore's first Krispy Kreme outlet opens at the basement of Tangs. Fans will be treated to tempting array of 16 flavours of freshly made doughnuts within the 1,200 square foot cafe. Love to see how your food's made? Gawk at the goodies as they're being made in store at the doughnut theatre.
