"Seafood Tales of Temasek" is a ten-day multi-venue event featuring a wide array of seafood prepared using cooking methods and flavours hailing as far back as the 14th century when Singapore was known as "Temasek", or "Sea Town" in Javanese.  The integration of ethnically diverse culinary influences has resulted in distinctively multicultural flavours.

Local celebrity chef and President of the Singapore Chefs' Association, Chef Eric Teo, is this year's Singapore Food Festival's food consultant. An educational element is incorporated into this year's activities as the organizers seek to share information on the different culinary heritage and evolution.
