Gastronomic Ruminations is now Superfinefeline ™
After almost 8 years, Superfinefeline ™ has her own logo instead of an avatar that I found on an avatar site.
I’ve often been asked if I called myself Superfinefeline because I love cats. Truth is, I love dogs more than cats though I generally love most animals. Superfinefeline was a nickname that was given to me by a very dear friend many years ago because apparently, my movements whether walking or sitting were quite cat-like. When I signed up for my Blogger account, I didn’t realise that the ID that I had chosen for myself would become the URL for my blog (www.superfinefeline.blogspot.com). When I realized what had happened, I figured that my friends would laugh it off as another of my crazy antics. I overcompensated with yet another mouthful of a blog name, Gastronomic Ruminations, to make up for the frivolous-sounding ID and URL that I had set up.
Come 27 September 2014, Superfinefeline ™ will turn 8 and once again, it's time for a change. As some of you may have noticed, I've changed my template since the end of May. I've also changed my blog title from "Gastronomic Ruminations" to Superfinefeline. Why so many changes? After almost 3 years of trying to launch my personal blog, Serendipity Knocks, I've finally come to the realization that it would require too much effort to maintain two separate blogs - one on food and the other on travel, lifestyle and life in general. I barely even have time or energy to blog about food, much less build a new blog on other topics. Superfinefeline will now be realigned to share her life experience - a large part of which is dedicated to seeking out good food.
With this change, I've reached another milestone in my project to declutter and simplify my life. It's time to let go of old memories and start new ones. Changing the avatar that I've used for over 7 years to a logo was a little harder than I thought it would be. After all this time, I've grown to love the cute sepia-toned cartoon character that represented Superfinefeline. I guess readers who had gotten used to the avatar may not recognize me from my new logo but I hope it will eventually grow on you.
To the readers and friends who have supported my blog all these years and even during the times when I seemed to have disappeared for months, I'm grateful for your support. I hope you will continue to read my blog as the main focus will still be on food. ;)
