Baba Chendol from Jonker Desserts
Whenever I think of
Peranakan food (a.k.a. Nonya food), I can't help but think about Baba
Chendol.
Especially this Baba Chendol from Jonker Desserts in Malacca!
I thought I should share this picture as it makes me dream of thick & fragrant Gula Melaka atop a bowl of crushed ice with home-made Chendol. The Gula Melaka syrup is so thick that it has the texture of honey and the flavour is awesome!
As you can see from the picture above, the chendol is a natural Pandan colour as opposed to the awful neon green stuff we get more regularly these days.
This is a MUST-TRY if you happen to visit Malacca.
